The 5/09 Beach Clean UP!
Here we are on our last community service day. We collected about 60 pounds of trash. We hope that any LIS organism that encounters the beach will be safer and happier! We also presented the staff at SOundwaters with a framed certificate of appreciation.
What a great year!

This is really helping the terrapins! You must be very kind to pick up almost all of my weight (I only weigh 74 pounds) of trash!

The class was wonderful and really did not hesitate to help. We were surprised that there was so much trash on the main beach at cove island but it was after a very warm weekend. The good news was that most of the other more secluded beaches were surprisingly free of trash!

I really did enjoy the day of the clean up and I was amazed that we collected about 60 pounds of trash. It's great to see that our advisory can make a difference to help the Terrapins and many other organisms.

The work your class is doing is really inspiring. The effort you have made to help another organism is really kind. I wish I could of had been involved in the cove island clean-up
